The Singer's Handbook
Faber Music approached Mary and Anthony Legge to write The Singer's Handbook following their successful teamwork on Channel 4's Operatunity. Having worked alongside each other at English National Opera for many years, it was a collaboration that made perfect sense. For many people, the notion of having a career in music as a singer is a dream, but they have no idea how they might approach making that dream a reality. The book aims to demystify the whole process of training and skill development in the singer.

Boosey Voice Coach series
Boosey and Hawkes then approached Mary with the idea of producing a series of coaching books. Mary has selected the repertoire, to cover a wide range of styles, and each volume concentrates on one language. The coaching notes have three different strands: technical vocal, musical and linguistic. English repertoire is represented in The Boosey Voice Coach: Singing in English (published in 2009); French repertoire is in The Boosey Voice Coach: Singing in French (published in 2009), and a further volume - Singing in German is now in progress.
